Guesty, a property management system (PMS) for the vacation rental market, has acquired France-based Smily.
The financial terms were not disclosed, but the companies noted that Smily's five founders and a group of its shareholders are reinvesting part of the proceeds from the sale in Guesty equity.
The addition of Smily, a PMS and channel manager, "reflects Guesty's commitment to the French market" as it continues to scale globally.
"France is one of the fastest-growing short-term rental markets in the world, and Smily has earned the trust of operators there for more than fifteen years. Bringing Smily into the Guesty family helps build on that trust," said Amiad Soto, co-founder and CEO of Guesty.
"We are excited to offer French property managers with the best technology and look forward to hearing from them how we can help them run their business better."
Guesty and Smily said their focus on "moving faster, investing deeper and setting a new standard for the technology French property managers can build their businesses on."
Smily customers will also have access to Guesty's artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, including Agent Hub, its recently launched ecosystem of autonomous AI agents for the vacation rental market.
Smily was founded in 2005 by Sébastien Grosjean, starting with a channel manager for his family's rentals before opening to paying customers in 2010 and growing to the PMS.
"My family have been in the vacation rentals industry for 40+ years; it's fair to say we not only know the industry well, but it's part of who we are," Grosjean said, adding that it decided to join Guesty due to the fast-moving changes in technology and the industry itself.
