innRoad, which offers a Web-based property management system for independent hotels, picked up $5.8 million in a Series B financing round.
Patrick Campbell of Blue Herron Capital and and Matt Christensen of Rose Park Advisors will join the innRoad board as their companies led the financing round.
innRoad says it will use the funding infusion to "fund development improvements to innRoad's current platform, new applications, sales and marketing and working capital needs, both in the US and internationally."
Headquartered in Southampton, New York, innRoad offers a PMS and central reservation system, as well as an online booking engine, and distribution and marketing services for independent hotels.
Founded in 2008, the company says its products have been used by 350 independent properties of various sizes in more than 10 countries in the Americas and Europe.
For example, innRoad customers in the US include Kirkley Hotel in Lynchburg, Virginia; Flatiron Hotel in Manhattan; and Hotel Morgantown in Morgantown, West Virginia.
In Turkey, Hotel Kumru is a client, as is Park House Hotel in the UK, for instance.
Previous funding had come from the founders and angel investors; innRoad has taken in $7.7 million in total funding to date.
