Ouch!! Or a sign of the times? Travellers would rather take their mobile device on a trip than a loved one.
That's one of the findings from a huge survey of almost 10,000 leisure travellers around the world from Hotels.com.
The Expedia Inc-owned hotel booking site also discovered that consumers claim they are more spontaneous in their travel behaviour since they got their hands on a smartphone.
For example, 42% of respondents have booked a same-day hotel with their mobile, whilst the main activity for the American contingent in the results is comparing deals, followed by maps, weather, pictures and social media.
