May 15:
Indian OTA Yatra.com has named Himanshu Verma as chief technology officer with immediate effect. He joins from Flipkart where he held the role of director of engineering for three years. He spent six years at Yahoo! and his CV also includes a stint at Oracle.
Illusions Online, the Dubai-based travel technology firm, has appointed Paulo Martins as vice president for Europe and South America. He will establish business development teams across Europe and South America, including overseeing the recruitment of up to 25 people and the opening of an office is Sao Paulo Brazil.
May 13:
Travelport has opened its 12th Hotelzon office - in Frankfurt, Germany. The location is headed by sales manager Thomas Specht who joins from internet marketing company Weever Media. Hotelzon has also boosted its product development team in Finland with the appointment of Antti Pyykkönen as product manager and Gustav Gnosspelius as product communications manager.
May 12:
Zomato has recruited Durga Raghunath as a senior vice president with responsibility for customer acquisition and retention worldwide. Raghunath joins from Network18 Digital where she was chief executive.
Sabre has appointed Jeff Kays to head up account management for enterprise customers including newly signed Wyndham Hotels, in its hospitality solution business. Within the role Kays will look after the deployment of the SynXis Property Manager and SynXis Central Reservations systems.
May 11:
GroundLink, the tech-enabled black car service, has installed Liz Carisone as top dog. Carisone most recently served as CFO and senior vice president of operations. She replaces Dean Sivley, who is departing to work for Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection.
TheTrainline has made Ian Cairns B2B sales director and Clare Morrissey head of B2B account management. Cairns will look after all B2B channels including travel management companies, global distribution systems and online booking tools.
