Yapta ends search for new CEO, appoints EZYield boss James FilsingerNewsBy Kevin May | July 18, 2012Share This article was originally published on Over seven months after co-founder and CEO Tom Romary quit the company, Yapta has installed a new boss to take care of the airfare price tracking service.The new CEO will be James Filsinger, ex-Sabre vice president of new business ventures and most recently CEO of of EZYield.Filsinger replaces interim CEO Ken Myer (ex-CEO of the Washington Technology Industry Association in Seattle) who was appointed to run the company after Romary's exit to become senior vice president of consumer services at Rearden.The new CEO was credited with guiding the sale of EZYield to TravelClick in November 2011 where he then became general manager with responsibility for group-wide channel management business.Yapta has evolved since its launch in 2007, striking deals with TripIt for the Pro service, integrating Kayak air search (and vice versa with some other services), pushing in to corporate travel services and securing a deal with credit card giant Mastercard.The company is backed by both Voyager Capital and Concur, raising more than $11 million in funding to date.
