- Lastminute.com says its new brand campaign represents a transformation of the business which sees it focus on providing upmarket deals at bargain prices. The company claims it is going back to its roots with the initiative which goes across print, outdoor advertising and social media. Agency adam & eve created the campaign.
- UK hotel chain De Vere has selected SiteMinder for its online channel management. De Vere will integrate its existing central reservation and revenue management systems to SiteMinder to drive online revenue. De Vere Hotels has begun using the technology while the Village brand will follow shortly.
- HRG is heading to the Himalayas with news that it has appointed Zenith Experience Travel Services to act as its associate partner in Nepal. The company will trade as HRG Nepal and will join the corporate travel giant's network of corporate travel management companies. MD of the new business unit, Mihika Dhakhwa, says: "Corporate travel is in its relative infancy in Nepal, but as part of the HRG network we aim to lead the industry by offering the best and latest in corporate travel services in Nepal."
- Another win for OnAir after tying up a deal with Brazilian phone operator Oi to provide in-flight mobile access for passengers on the TAM airline. The promotion will allow Oi customers travelling on the airline given 50% off use of their handsets for calls, SMSs, emailing and synchronising applications during flights.
