- Latest travel brand to dive into the world of iPad-dedications application is Kuoni, the luxury tour operator. The app features the operator's range of brochures, videos, travel articles and functionality from the existing website, such as prices and availability.
- Pegasus Airlines has been added to Multicom's Find and Book reservation system. The move follows the recent integration of Wind Jet, Intersky and Helvetic to the Multicom system. The carrier currently flies to 48 destinations in 21 counties and was the first low cost carrier in Turkey.
- Worldhotels has gone live on hotel search engine Room Key following a partnership between the companies announced in March. Worldhotels has about 500 independent properties on the system and says it is already seeing an increase in traffic to its own booking engine. Room Key was unveiled in January with six founding partners including Hilton Worldwide and Marriott International.
- Hotwire has unleashed its mobile booking site in the UK and Republic of Ireland. The service enables users to find hotels and book in one click. The site is also equipped with GPS, maps, images and click-to-call customer service. As well as enabling hotel and car-hire bookings, the service also allows users to log into their hotelwire account to check forthcoming trip details.
- TourWrist used the buzz around last week's Google I/O event in San Francisco to launch its Android application, as well as taking a seat in the event's so-called developer sandbox. The app will be made available to users during July. TourWrist is also working on how the new Google Nexus tablet can be used with the app, making the most of the 360-degree picture shooting and sharing tools.
