More acceptance of the new world by traditional travel providers following an agreement between American Airlines and Uber to collaborate.
The pair teamed up so that passengers using the AA mobile application can find and select Uber rides at various airports across the US.
Passengers can set a reminder for Uber-hosted ground transportation through the app, for when they arrive at a destination.
Once a user is on the ground they can use the AA app to locate the nearest Uber pick-up location and choose the type of service they require (UberX, etc).
Members of the airline's loyalty programme will get an incentive to use the service until the end of July this year.
Airports will the location-finder tool include New York JFK, Phoenix, San Francisco and Dallas-Fort Worth.
American Airlines has existing deals for car rental services with Avis and Budget.
A number of other travel brands have worked with Uber since the release of its API in the summer of 2014, including Hyatt, Expensify and United.
