With alliance partners Aero República and Copa Airlines now using the Datalex Travel Distribution Platform, the two Latin America carriers can leverage alliance benefits for their customers, Datalex says.
In addition, consumers can book Copa Airlines' fares on the Aero República website, Datalex says.
Datalex says TDP is a merchandising platform which supports Aero República's fare families, its Irresistible Web specials and reserve and hold features.
The Dublin-based technology company says its merchandising platform supports one-way and roundtrip fares, interline and codeshare functions, and it's all integrated with Aero República's content management system.
Jim Nation, regional sales director for Datalex USA, says the common platform "imports each airlines’ fares and rules to support shopping requests without the need to hit the host system and Datalex applies the appropriate fare family/fare branding attributes as defined by each airline, customizable per route."
The single platform also enables the two airlines to take advantage of each others' rollout of new features, with the other airline having the option to implement it around the same time of in the future, he says.
“Each airline is free to roll out multiple points of sale to accommodate specific language, currency and business requirements," Nation adds. "Currently Spanish, Portuguese, English. Columbian pesos and U.S. dollars are supported with up to five distinct fare family offers.”
Based in Colombia, Aero República operates scheduled service throughout South America. Copa is based in Panama and features service to South America, the Caribbean and North America.
