Nice idea from German airline Lufthansa as it looks to build some buzz ahead of the first flight of its Airbus A380 later this month from Frankfurt to New York City.
A380 Seat-Tweet is a promo campaign running from Feb 16 to 19 and is aimed at getting passengers talking about the maiden flight of the A380 on Twitter.
Consumers are being encouraged to follow the Lufthansa USA account, visit a special microsite where every seat available on the flight is marked on a map.
When the user clicks on their preferred seat, a Twitter message is placed in the user's account along the lines of:

"[NAME] booked virtual seat [SEAT NUMBER] on @lufthansa_USA's inaugural A380 flight. SeatTweet to win http://www.lhA380.com"
Users must tweet the same message every day (but can pick a different seat) in order to win.
The airline is giving away four first prizes at the end of the competition, including a flight from JFK, hotel thrown in and the obligatory tour of the Lufthansa facilities in Frankfurt, before being whisked off back to New York.
It's a good initiative by Lufthansa given that much of the hype around the Airbus A380 has passed since it entered service on the likes of Singapore Airlines and Emirates a few years ago.
At this stage, inevitably, very few business class seats left, but hundreds (literally) of economy positions remain.
