The same-day (most have now evolved to "late") booking sector has arguably seen its busiest market in India, in terms of the number of players.
Whilst the market appears to have shifted beyond the heady times of a few years ago, when the likes of HotelsTonight were supposedly steamrollering everything before them and spearheading an entirely new concept (mobile bookings, extremely close to the actual date of stay) for others to join as well, some are still enjoying solid growth.
But a new idea means that it is only after a certain amount of time that behaviour can be examined to determine any notable trends.
The guys at RoomsTonite have been crunching their internal data for a while now and have pulled together some interesting datapoints about the company's home market operates.
