- Choice Hotels, which has been focusing on driving more revenue through its own website, created a new position, vice president of global distribution, and is filling it by naming Robert McDowell to the job. McDowell will focus on multi-channel marketing and distribution strategy on a global basis. McDowell most previously served as managing director of distribution and ecommerce at United Airlines.
- Change of scene at travel community Travellerspoint with a brand new homepage, designed to better show off the features on the site. The nine year old business has re-jigged the navigation and look and feel to showcase the core tools of planning, booking and sharing. Travellerspoint has managed to capture around 389,000 members since launch and hosts 30,000 individual blogs.
- Copacabana time in Brazil for EZYield and Pmweb as they sign an agreement to launch Pmweb EZYield. The partnership between the channel management company and digital marketing agency is targeting hotel clients in the Brazilian market, providing the with a comprehensive suite of connectivity and distribution solutions.
- Promotion at Pegasus Solutions with Mike Montemurro taking on the new role of senior vice president, product strategy and support. Montemurro previously served as the vice president of central reservation system (CRS) product management for the company. The new position will give him responsibility for product strategy and support across Pegasus’ reservations, distribution, representation and financial services product lines.
