Airlines such as Royal Jordanian don't want to leave money on the table so they increasingly are partnering with tour and activities providers to make the airline website experience more of a one-stop shop.
Thus, Royal Jordanian has partnered with CityDiscovery to offer the airline's passengers tours, shows and ground transportation in cities ranging from Paris, London and Rome to Amman, Jerusalem and Nairobi.
On the airline's website, under the Plan & Book tab, site visitors can link to Tours & Attractions and Airport Transfers, both powered by CityDiscovery.
Visitors can book everything from the Moulin Rouge in Paris to Dead Sea tours and a private car at Phnom Penh International Airport in Cambodia. Prices are shown in Jordanian dinar.
Members of the airline's frequent flyer program, Royal Plus, earn miles for each Jordanian dinar used to purchase the tours and attractions.
Royal Jordanian opted for a white-label solution and the tours, activities and ground transportation options are not integrated into the flight-booking path.
"They will use it as an independent tool/website, which will be integrated in specific touch points in their website and their confirmation e-mail/page," says Giorgos Mazarakis, a CityDiscovery spokesperson. "Moreover, they will promote the service through their newsletters."
