Viko Bhakta, co-founder and CEO Roomkey Technologies, is in a good mood today as he announces a $1 million investment.
The seed round was led by investment firms 500 Startups, 500 Mobile Collective, and Horizon Partners.
Earlier this month, Bhakta explained to Tnooz readers about his company's business proposition:

"An increasing number of property management system and door lock hardware providers offer software to enable mobile check-in and smartphone room keys. But they do not build guest-facing mobile apps, which creates a “mobile white space” in the hotel IT ecosystem.
Today’s “silent travelers” want to manage their entire stay from their mobile device: from booking and check-in to room selection, mobile room key and mobile concierge services."
RoomKey offers an in-app, white-labeled chat tool that lets guests use text communication to get questions answered rather than having to correspond with the front desk. This corresponds to a trend we've notice in text-based messaging becoming popular with hotel apps
