India-based accommodation distribution provider RezNext has secured a $5 million funding round from New Enterprises Associates.
The company, which was created in 2012, says the capital will be used to target new customers in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Based in Bangalore, RezNext claims its real-time system "levels the playing field for lower and mid-scale hotels".
The company is fronted by former chairman and CEO of Pegasus Solutions, Mike Kistner.
The growth of RezNext over the course of the past two years (it claims to have over 1,200 customers) comes as all three GDSs have ramped up their hotel distribution focus, such as Travelport buying Hotelzon earlier this year.
Kistner's former employer Pegasus has also recently switched to new ownership.

"This funding will help us substantially increase our market penetration, deliver our full product portfolio, and ensure that our customers and partners succeed through increased collaboration, great customer service and improved revenues."
NEA has invested in some $13 billion in various businesses around the world, primarily in technology and healthcare.
