If high-tech toilets and next gen vending machines were among those voted the most cool in ANA's (All Nippon Airways) Is Japan Cool campaign last year, what will this latest phase bring?
The airline has added 'Dreams' content to the campaign focusing on animation including Manga, video games and other elements of Japanese culture.
The campaign was launched on Thursday with consumers already voting on what's cool from vacuum headphones and the Otaku camera (an app to change anyone into a Manga character) to 3D latte art (shown above).
ANA is collaborating with Toyota and animation specialist Studio4C on the project which has been named PES (Peace Eco Smile).
A press release says more than 60,000 people from 150 countries participated in ANA's ticket campaign since its launch last February focusing on different categories including Tokyo and Okinawa. Videos accompanying the promotion have been viewed more than 1.2m times on YouTube.
It is believed that the campaign has resulted in a 34% uplift in tourism to the country in 2012 compared to the previous year.
