Mobile travel app provider Movitas is celebrating today after securing a $3 million investment from a group of private investors.
The Philadephia, US-based company specialises in creating mobile applications for hotels, destinations, resorts and conferences. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.
Officials say the investment will be used to develop new end-user functionality to allow clients to increase the revenue-generating elements on existing and new applications.
The new injection of finds comes just eight months after Movitas acquired PhindMe and EverywhereIGo.
Movitas has secured a number of new clients in the intervening period including Choice Hotels International, Ocean Properties and Kohler Resorts, as well as new work for tourist boards and other destination operators in the US, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Many of the apps act as virtual concierges, allowing customers to interact with the hotel or tourist board, secure bookings and reservations and obtain information about services.
