A new infographic from Chase suggests a perspective shift when it comes to how Millennials consume hotel services. Traditional thinking is that Millenials are less interested in luxury hotels than Boomers, preferring the ease, access and affordability of P2P services such as Airbnb.
This graphic suggests otherwise, with Millennials in one particular cohort of 1,002 people aged 18-67 more likely to use hotel amenities.
Other important features of this slice of Millennial travelers are: desire to be close to public transportation when choosing a hotel, preference for elite status in a loyalty program, and a more social bent to their interactions with hotels.
Each of these findings is another guiding point in the drive for hotels to engage Millennials through amenities and technology, and a steady reminder for hotels not to ignore Millennials simply because conventional wisdom suggests this demographic lacks interest in the segment.
