Axivate Capital has put €1.5 million behind Mews Systems in a bid to accelerate the hotel tech provider's vision to "build the PMS of the future".
The "post-seed" investment in the Czech Republic-based company comes four years after its formation, when it had lofty ambitions to "rethink the traditional PMS".
The idea is to allow hotels using the platform to cover elements of hotel technology including guest concierge application, web booking engine and open APIs for connections.
It also includes payment and reporting tools, a housekeeping app and integration into third party channels and computer reservation systems.
Founder Richard Valtr says:

"Our intention was never to build a PMS, but rather to rethink the way all types of properties operate."
The system is aimed at small independent hoteliers, 1,000-bed properties and rental management providers.
Axivate has previously invested in the likes of YourTablet, Emerce and Corendon.
Mews operates out of the Czech capital of Prague and also has offices in the UK and the Netherlands.
