US-based online travel agency CheapOair.com dug into its booking statistics to come up with the most popular destinations for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend in the US.
There were no earth-shattering surprises, with Las Vegas and Los Angeles taking the top two spots, respectively.
In addition, the online travel agency used some 2011 data from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority on the channel breakdown of bookings to the city. The study found that 7% of travelers booked their trip to the city through social media, and that was down just a tad from 8% a year earlier.
That data, though, are apparently a year old so it would be surprising if bookings through social media were not on an upswing.
The Los Vegas study says 55% of travelers used the Web for trip-planning.
