The upcoming PhoCusWright 2010 conference is headlined, "Chaos Calls -- Navigating the New," and just in time along comes more chaos, or smartphone innovation, depending on your perspective.
With the upcoming launch of Windows Phone 7, Lonely Planet says its Top Cities 2011 app, developed by Object Consulting, will be available for a free download when the Windows Marketplace launches later in 2010.
So, regarding the chaos reference, travel companies already working on apps for iPhones, iPads, Android devices and Blackberrys, to name a few platforms, now must consider whether the Windows Phone 7 should be on their short list, as well.
Lonely Planet says the Top Cities 2011 app, geared to inspire travel to alluring locales, is an extract from its sixth annual Best in Travel 2011 print edition, which is slated to be published in November 2010.
Lonely Planet cautions that its "2011 top travel lists are shrouded in secrecy until Nov. 1, 2010."
OK, your secrets are safe here.
