Back-end systems in the vacation rental sector are also on the receiving end of investment, as Spain-based Kigo wins a $1.8 million Series A injection this week.
The US company, which has its headquarters in Barcelona, secured the fund from Creathor Venture, a German investment company which also counts the likes of Roombeats and Viewster on its portfolio.
Kigo produces a number of services for vacation rental organisations including reservations systems, a channel manager and consumer-facing web platforms.
A string of companies are already using the channel manager system, the company says, with HomeAway and Airbnb named as portal partners.
After its initial launch in Europe and North America (it also has offices in Paris and Philadelphia), Kigo says it is looking to the east and is launching a subsidiary in Singapore this week.
