Hostelbookers rebrands, gets new site
- The Hostelworld-owned budget accommodation service has a new, responsive designed website to support the relaunch of the main brand image. The design was carried out by the Lucky General creative agency and includes work for the desktop and mobile sites, as well as its apps and social media channels. The new website includes changes to the search and booking processes.

- In its sector of travel activities, the booking startup's app was touted as one of the best in 21 countries. That's led to it being the most downloaded app during the winter holidays in six markets, including Italy, France, and Germany, according to a third-party estimating service.The app offers users a personalised list of 3-5 activities in a user's chosen city, as long as a searchable database. The version for Italy offers a live messaging service with hotel concierges for personalized requests. That will be rolled out to the rest of Europe over the next six months.
Monday 4 January 2016:TravelSupermarket mocks German tourists in TV ad
- The UK-based metasearch brand is running the "Holiday Like A German" ad campaign on TV, outdoor, online and elsewhere during January. The site recently relaunched ahead of the peak booking period for British travellers.
Qatar Airways enlists Barcelona greats for marketing/safety clip
- Football stars Messi, Suarez, Neymar, Pique, Rakitic and Mascherano all feature in a new video for the Middle East-based carrier. The airline, which is an official partner for the club, uses the players as well as fans and in the four-minute video.
