HRS is the latest business to find out that corporate travellers quite like to have a hi-tech room to stay in when on the road.
The business - which has been around for 40 years but relaunched as a "hotel solutions provider" earlier this year - asked more than 4000 visitors to its website a number of questions about their tech tastes while travelling.
The key takeaway is that most business travellers like the idea of a hi-tech room. Overall, nearly half the sample (44%) said they would like to have some sort of tablet device in their room, while a quarter (23%) wanted a laptop.
Brits in particular seem quite taken with the idea of using technology as a super-charged remote control, with 42% saying they would rather operate their hotel room’s lighting, air conditioning and television via a display instead of using a separate remote control or switch.
HRS has highlighted some of the hotels on its books which it says are giving its road warriors a cutting edge tech experience.
Citizen M Amsterdam
Guests are given "mood pads", a device which allows them to personalize ( or "adjust") the room lighting, room temperature, television and curtains.
Eccleston Square Hotel London
Interesting, because it offers a hi-tech experience in a Grade-2 listed structure. Guests receive a personal iPad as a digital concierge and can navigate almost everything in their room via a touchpad.
New Yorker Yotel
At the New Yorker Yotel, a robot helps with your luggage; after the key delivery via a check-in terminal, the so-called Yobot safely stows away personal belongings in lock boxes.
