Facebook Deals, a commercial spin-off of Facebook Places, has secured one of its first travel and tourism partners in the form of Harrah's Hotels.
The famous Las Vegas portfolio of properties has decided to test the check-in water with Facebook Deals following its launch two weeks ago as a way of allowing companies to brand or give an incentive to people to use Facebook Places to check-in to a particular location.
In this case Harrah's will give discounts to users when they check-in to Facebook Places from their mobile device.
For example, a user can get special rates on drinks (two-for-one, that kind of thing) at various bars, free entry to some of its classy venues and discounted tickets to the, err, showgirl revue.
Inevitably the system is not without a string of terms and conditions, such as minimum age of 21 to use any of the discounts.
