Goby, the travel inspiration search engine, closed on another $2.5 million in funding, bringing its total since launching in 2009 to $7.5 million.
Among its plans, the Boston-based company says it intends to incorporate "social recommendations that span the divide between the Web and mobile experience, tapping user's social network to get feedback and recommendations."
The latest funding, an extension of Goby's Series A funding, comes from existing investors Flybridge Capital Partners and Kepha Partners.
Goby says it has increased its site visitors from 50,000 in January 2010 to 500,000 in July 2010.
"This additional funding will help us integrate and advance Goby.com and our portfolio of mobile apps, combining the Web and mobile experience and enabling local discovery of y0ur next adventure," says co-founder and CEO Mark Watkins.
