A company which claims to have 50% of Paris hotels using its booking engine has peered across the English Channel and is attempting an invasion.
Availpro launched in 2001 has grown quickly in France to become a significant player in the booking software marketplace, either through a white label web system or channel manager programme.
The company is now heading to the UK with launch of a dedicated division for the UK, headed by ex-Teletext and Travel.co.uk boss Ray Mason.
The move is the first part of a wider strategy to specifically target other European countries.
Availpro's engine works by sitting in between web distributors (150 in total, such as Booking.com and Expedia) and the hotel or chain's reservation technology.
Since being formed, Availpro says it has managed to attract 7,500 properties to its system and a total 8.9 million units have been sold.
