Secret Escapes, the flash sales service launched in January, has attracted a second round of funding ahead of a multi-million pound marketing campaign.
The hotels and holidays flash deals service, which has not put a number on its funding so far, says it is planning a £5 million marketing campaign in 2012 to establish itself as the market leader in the space.
The company will face stiff competition from an already crowded market place including LivingSocial which extended its Escapes travel service into Europe in August.
Secret Escapes says it already has 750,000 active members and is doubling turnover every three months.
Former dealchecker boss Alex Saint, a co-founder of Secret Escapes, has now taken the helm at the company.
Saint stayed on with dealchecker after its acquisition by EasyVoyage in February to ensure a smooth handover.
Secret Escapes already has partnerships with Teletext Holidays and Planet Confidential with a further two in the pipeline including a major newspaper group and a private sales e-commerce site.
Tom Valentine, managing director of Secret Escapes said the model 'taps into the current mood' from consumers who want luxury experiences but also want a good deal.
