OK, Farelogix takes us to the movies again, this time questioning the alleged scare tactics of "GDS and sponsored coalitions and lobbyists."
In the latest Farelogix video, Ask the Question 10, president and CEO Jim Davidson cites global distribution system coalitions and well-orchestrated public relations campaigns as stirring up disdain for "the evil airline direct-connect movement."
The only coalition that the video names, on a crumbling movie marquee with sagebrush swirling by, is Open Allies for Airfare Transparency.
The coalition, which includes Sabre, Amadeus and Travelport as members, says it just signed on its 250th member, including major travel agencies and trade associations.
Davidson portrays the forces arrayed against American Airlines direct-connect as similar to critics who fought the automobile because it would doom the horse-drawn carriage and "scare the livestock."
Farelogix is an American Airlines subcontractor, offering up its technology for AA Direct Connect.
Davidson argues that direct-connects actually will benefit consumers, contending that distributors such as Priceline and Vegas.com, which have penned direct-connect agreements with the airline, and plenty of others, will lead the way.

Note: In the interests of fairness, we'd be glad to run a video reply to these allegations from Open Allies or the GDSs.
