Global Motion, the company behind the highly regarded EveryTrail iPhone app and web service, has secured a $1 million round of funding.
California-based Band of Angels has invested in the fellow state startup as it looks to spearhead growth of the product and widen the senior management team.
A number of other undisclosed US and international investors are also part of the funding team.
The move coincides with EveryTrail getting the thumbs up from Apple for the latest and third version of its iPhone app.
EveryTrail was a finalist at the PhoCusWright Innovation Summit in November 2009, losing out to the Affinity Shopper tool from Amadeus.
The new version of the EveryTrail app is set to closer align the mobile experience with the web service, chief executive Joost Schreve says.
New features include 200,000 trips around the world already installed on the system, a redesigned interface, ability to share information easier on Twitter and Facebook, and improvements to the core mapping and GPS functionality.
Around 100,000 downloads have been made of the existing versions of the app.
