Monday 14 July 2014:Ctrip launches in Korean market
- Ctrip, China-based online travel agent, has launched its Korean website and Korean language mobile application in both Android and iOS, and also opened an office in Seoul. This new site will focus on Korean travellers outbound and inbound travel needs.
Booking.com launches first TV campaign for Germany
- The campaign starts this week and will run across major German TV channels until mid-September. Germany is a "key strategic market" for Booking.com, the company says, with 26,000 properties in the country now listed. Other TV ad campaigns this year have debuted this year in the UK, US and Canada.
Leonardo provides hotel visual content to Trivago
- Leonardo, a technology solutions provider for hospitality industry, and Trivago, a hotel metasearch, has signed a multi-year agreement that will enable Trivago's site to be powered by Leonardo’s VNetwork and MediaConnect products. As part of the agreement, Trivago will gain access to over 1.9 million photos.
Travelzoo Asia Pacific launches new lifestyle section
- With the new lifestyle channel, Pin Shang (available at Travelzoo Lv You Zu website), Travelzoo APAC offers a wider range of premium lifestyle, travel and entertainment experiences for subscribers in Shanghai and Beijing. Pin Shang gives the subscribers in China exclusive access to over 30 categories of branded, premium lifestyle offerings.

Viator for tours and activities partnership
- The Germany-based travel planning platform will use the Viator service as its preferred partner to supply inventory of global tours and activities to its website. Both desktop and mobile versions of Twisper will feature listings of things to do from Viator, including the ability to search and book product via a new Activities channel.
Visit Queensland sent five videographers on a 24-hour filming challenge
- Visit Queensland tapped Think! Social Media, a marketing consultancy, for this project, which sent videographers to five different regions within a tight timeframe. They had to edit their video on the flight home. Here's a preview trailer.
