BookingBit recruits for head of product
- Ulf Schmidt joins the travel software provider with overall responsibility for developing new software-as-a-service tools. He joins from Berlin Food Panda Group where he was head of consumer product. Schmidt has also worked for MyDriver, FeedZilla and Cape Centure Partners.
BoutiqueHomes focuses on biz dev
- The vacation rental service has hired Michael Bolger to handle its business development and marketing. Bolger has previously worked for Globe Homes, HovelStay and LGS. The appointment comes as the brand launches a redesign of its website.
Friday 24 June 2016:Expedia adds Hollywood producer to board
- Scott Rudin joins the board of directors of Expedia Inc, increasing the size from 13 to 14. Rudin has worked for Twentieth Century Fox and spearheaded partnerships with Paramount Pictures and Walt Disney.
Thursday 23 June 2016:ForwardKeys hires marketing chief
- Laurens van den Oever becomes the travel analytics company's first chief marketing officer, joining from GfK where he was global head of travel and hospitality. He has also had stints with Business News America, Ericsson and KLM.
Wednesday 22 June 2016:eRevMax bolsters South America sales unit
- Alex Moura joins as regional sales director for Latin America and Portugal for the hotel technology provider, joining from Evolution Distribution where he was director of business development in Latin America. He previously worked for eRevMax between January 2013 and July 2015 as regional sales director in Brazil.
Friday 17 June 2016:Travelport gets a lobbying VP
- Kelly Kolb becomes the travel technology provider's vice president of government affairs, based in Washington DC. She most recently held a similar position for the Retail Industry Leaders Association and has previously worked in a number of government department positions, with US senators and on George W Bush's re-election campaign.
Thursday 16 June 2016:Amadeus boosts UK and Ireland
- Clare de Bono takes the role of head of product and innovation for the region while Amanda Kotenko becomes head of UK account management. De Bono was previously at STA Travel Group and Kotenko spent 14 years with American Express.
Travelport hires commercial head for air in Latin America- Carlos Quijano joins the company as commercial direct for air commerce in the region from LATAM Airlines Group, where he was sales director for its western region (US). He has previously worked for ISDS and American Airlines.
Wednesday 15 June 2016:Vayant gets Lufthansa exec on board
- Xavier Lagardère will be joining the travel technology company's board of directors, replacing Joerg Hennemann. Lagardère is currently group senior director for distribution at the Lufthansa Group and has previously worked for Groupon and Amadeus.
Tuesday 14 June 2016:Sabre hires from Amadeus
- Daver Lau becomes regional director for Sabre Travel Network in North Asia, having joined from Amadeus where he was general manager for the company in Taiwan and had worked in a number of positions since 1996 (apart from a one-year stint at LastMinuteTravel in Hong Kong between 2001 and 2001).
Thursday 9 June 2016:Rainmaker Group brings in Lanyon exec
- The company's new senior vice president for hospitality sales at the travel technology provider, David O'Donohoe, joins from Lanyon where he led global sales and strategy for its Smart Hotel Cloud business. He has previous worked for Starcite and Active Networks.
Wednesday 8 June 2016:Sabre bolsters APAC team
- Todd Arthur joins the company from HRS as vice president of sales and market development in Asia Pacific, reporting to the region's SVP, Roshan Mendis. Arthur was managing director for HRS in APAC, with previous positions held at BCD Travel, Advito, Finnair and Malaysia Airlines.
iCars names first president
- The new mobile app service will have Edward Silver overseeing all operations, technology and business development. He was most recently senior vice president of global operations for the GBTA. Silver also co-founded consultancy service Hudson Crossing after a period as vice president of technology and operations for hospitality and leisure for Cendant (after it acquired Silver's Lodging.com brand).
Thursday 2 June 2016:Datalex in major job pledge
- The Ireland-based travel tech supplier says it will create 200 new positions across its global divisions over the course of the next 18 months. Half of the roles will be at the company's new headquarters in Dublin, with the remaining 100 at its offices in China, UK and the US.
Wednesday 1 June 2016:HotelREZ gets strategic
- Catt McLeod rejoins as director of strategic partnerships at the hotel representation and marketing-distribution company. She started her hospitality career at Pegasus before joining HotelREZ for two years as director of business development. McLeood was commercial director at Supranational Hotels until March this year.
