With all of the hype about the iPad, does anyone remember the Kindle? Amazon attempted to break through the iPad media frenzy today with an announcement that Michelin Driving Tours are now exclusively available for six months in the Kindle Store at $3.99 per download.
While the iPad is getting up to speed content-wise, the Kindle Store features some 450,000 e-books, Amazon says.
The three Michelin Driving Tours currently available are: “Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, and the Russian River Valley: California Driving Tours”; “Orlando and the Keys: Florida Driving Tours”; “Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket: New England Driving Tours.
The Kindle is an e-reading platform and the Michelin Driving tours are compatible with a variety of smartphones and e-reader devices, including the Kindle, Kindle DX, the Blackberry, PCs, Macs, the iPhone and iPod Touch.
And, oh yes....
Amazon says the Michelin Driving Tours will be available to read on the iPad "soon."
