Amazon Local UK has begun to sell tickets to West End theatre shows
- This week Amazon Local in Britain, the e-commerce giant's brand for flash and local deals, began selling tickets to the full set of current West End shows. There's no corresponding offer in New York for Broadway shows. But the move suggests that Amazon Local is interested in selling advance tickets to activities that tourists have traditionally purchased at destinations.
Wayn touts success with
South Africa Tourism- Wayn (Where Are You Now), the community of 23 million travellers, is touting the success of its partnership with South Africa Tourism. It claims to help to have shifted an additional 280,000 visitors to South Africa, representing $168 million in tourism spend, excluding air travel, since 2009. More than 840,000 Wayn users have expressed strong intentions to visit the country.
Tuesday 10 March:Eurostar launches TV advertisement in the Netherlands
- Eurostar has unveiled three television advertisements for the Dutch market which take a swipe at the inconvenience of air travel. The campaign is seeking to piggy-back off the rise in sales following last year's 'Any Dutch Station' highlighting the potential for city to city travel by rail.
Vayant and
Criteo partner for real-time pricing
- Performance marketing specialist Criteo has joined forces with flight search company Vayant Travel Technologies to bring real-time fares prices to advertisements. The technology enables airlines to target travellers with specific offers including the best available price. The partnership has come about as a result of Lufthansa wanting to serve customers with more relevant ads.
Monday 9 March 2015:New consumer campaign for Booking.com
- The campaign - Booking Right - will launch on multple channels in the UK this week as part of the next drive of awareness-raising for the hotel giant. The ad was created by Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam and focuses on a "booking hero" including cinema, digital, social media, print and outdoor activity.
ArrivalGuides secures UK re-seller deal for destination content
- New Mind will act as exclusive re-seller of the ArrivalGuides technology and content as part of the agreement. The company's DMO customers will be able to get up-to-date, multi-media tourism content made available via their websites, mobile apps or TV apps.
Tuesday 3 March 2015HovelStay expands to Europe
- The budget lodging platform will open offices in London and Dubai as early as May 2015, to better handle its growth in Europe and the Middle East.
