Tnooz is two years old this month.
Like all toddlers, we're precocious and fearless about certain things... for example, launching a media brand about technology and the global digital travel economy in the middle of a perfectly rotten global economy.
And like all 2-year-olds, we make mistakes... which is why our WordPress engine enables comments on every post, including this one. Please tell us how we can do better. We'll listen, and engage in conversation the best we can.
Here's what Tnooz is all about: we like travel, we're fascinated by technology and what it means to travel and the industry, we're curious about what's driving travel in a digital age, and we like to tell stories about what's new, what's broken, what's getting fixed, and how travel tech is flattening the world.
There are many dozens of travel publications covering micro-niches and geographical markets in travel, tourism and hospitality. Not one of them is a global brand that cuts across ALL niches and tells stories about how technology, mobile devices, social media and commerce, innovation and start-ups are disrupting everything we know about travel ... except Tnooz.
Our first two years have been a blur of growth.
- 4,500 posts by our editorial team, our Nodes and subject-matter guest experts in travel.
- 250+ TLabs Showcase profiles of travel start-ups with fresh (if sometimes naive) ideas.
- Surpassing one million quarterly page views in March 2011.
- Appy Hour meet-ups and THack showcases at leading industry events.
- Tnooz's webinar series on reputation management and other issues and trends.
And today's launch of our re-designed web site, with smoother navigation and more posts displayed on Tnooz's home page.
Kevin May, my friend, co-founder and editor of Tnooz, likes to say Tnooz is a "perpetual beta." As an online media guy and refugee from the newspaper industry many years ago, I like the sound of that.
Tnooz is focused on the dizzying pace of change in travel tech ... your comments in this space are part of that change and keep us focused.
We're calling this blog "Talking Travel Tech", Tnooz's tagline since birth. Welcome to the conversation.
