Safely, a company providing insurance solutions, and Sustonica, a startup seeking to provide properties with an environmental sustainability certificate, are just two examples of players in the space.
Sustonica founder and CEO Vanessa de Souza Lage and Safely founder and CEO Andrew Bates joined us in the PhocusWire studio at Phocuswright Europe 2023 to talk about their recent initiatives, greatest challenges and goals for this year.
De Souza Lage discussed the importance of establishing sustainability criteria and certification for short-terms rentals and the need for large properties managers as well as online travel agents to help drive the conversation.
Bates, meanwhile, touched on guest screening in rentals and how it needs to be transparent so that guests are not turned away with no reason provided.
He also spoke about recent funding and how investors are helping Safely establish new products and expand geographically.
