The Indian division of auction giant eBay is following its UK counterpart by unveiling travel search and booking to its website.
The embedded system on its travel category pages is provided by Indian online travel agency Yatra.
Yatra will provide search and booking of international and domestic flights, but only similar facilities domestic accommodation.
The deal is a pretty tidy one for Yatra, at least in terms of exposure.
Not only does it get in front of users of the biggest auction site in India but eBay is providing plenty of advertising real estate on the travel section, homepage and other areas of the site for Yatra.
The development is the latest in a growing line of deals by eBay to integrate travel functionality into its various country sites.
In January 2010 it signed a deal with Octopus Travel to include a similar search and booking widget for hotels on its UK site.
But the idea of forging partnerships with travel suppliers and agencies has not been an easy ride for eBay - various attempts have been made over the years with travel companies in the US and Australia, but these have not become long term arrangements.
