Yahoo Japan acquires Venture Republic, backer of two large travel services in JapanNewsBy Karthick Prabu | August 6, 2013Share This article was originally published on Marissa Mayer-led Yahoo continues its shopping spree, this time Yahoo Japan has acquired Venture Republic, Japan-based company which runs ecommerce portals.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.Venture Republic, a company which was co-founded by Kei Shibata in 2001, runs metasearch brand Travel.jp, hotel review service Hotel.jp and Coneco.net, a comparison shopping portal.Shibata says both the company's dedicated travel services Travel.jp and Hotel.jp aren't part of this deal.
