Mobile travel application Triposo is providing users with details of nearby events by pulling in details from Facebook and other sources.
The functionality is part of additonal content being made available to users in an update for iPhone and iPad.
Triposo, which was launched about 18 months ago (TLabs here), enables users to plan travel via mobile or tablet and browse itineraries on the go without the need for roaming.
The service also aims to provide users with real-time suggestions of what to do and see.
The mobile application has now developed Triposo Food to help travellers look up local food and find popular places to eat, again via social media.
The startup has also integrated Triposo Hotels enabling users to find last-minute stays as well as added features such as a guide to animals and works of art in an area.
Triposo is one of many newbies in the competitive travel planning space but there are challenges ahead in terms of depth of coverage if you follow the debate here.
