Some exposure you just can't buy - so European startup TripWolf must be full of cheer this week after being selected as app-of-choice for a new Deutsche Telekom TV ad.
The trip planning startup is front and centre of a new marketing campaign from the German mobile network giant, featuring heavily in a 30-second ad spot, where some travellers are using the Tripwolf app to identify points of interest when on a trip.
The ad ends with a large Tripwolf logo, which is nice, especially as the startup's CEO Sebastian Heinzel says not a Euro has changed hands and the mobile operator simply picked the app for the campaign.
Furthermore, customers of Deutsche Telekom get five Tripwolf destination guides for free during July 2011.
Marketing including Tripwolf will also extend across print, online and billboards. Heinzel says since the ad first aired the iPhone version of the product has climbed into the top 15 smartphone apps in Germany.
