Bowel movement-inducing startup TripFab says it has attracted a further $700,000 in investment on top of the $400,000 it had previously raised last year.
The US-based company, which infamously claimed "the travel industry is going **** its pants" when it experiences the product, secured the second tranche of money from a group of private investors.
The initial $400,000 round came from an investor associated with his previous company, CodeMyConcept.
CEO Michael La Rosa claims the company has already turned down "lots of money" from other investors as it is no longer raising any more capital, ahead of TripFab's launch.
The site, which is promising a new platform for booking hotels, ground services, tours and activities, is expecting to launch soon, but initially only in Central America.
The funds will be used to "prove the model", La Rosa says, as well as securing partnerships with hotels, tour operators and transport providers and mobile development.
A "world phone rental plan" is also on the product pipeline - a service to give users access access to a mobile during their trips so they can contact the company.
The ideas coming out of TripFab are ambitious and interesting. La Rosa says:

"We are part of planning a trip. We are also on the trip with you. We also have access to hotels, tour operators, transportation services reservations calendar and schedules.
"We are one of the first companies to do this, so if you are in Jaco, Costa Rica on a trip - and open our "Today only deals app" - we see that a fishing tour operator has a boat of ten going out tomorrow."
TripFab has around 2,000 hotels, tour operators and transport companies signed up to the service, as well as 4,000 tour and activity listings in Central America.
La Rosa says:

"We now connect every part of your trip. So you plan white water rafting in the morning and in the afternoon have a city tour we give you options on how to get from each place to place with our itinerary tool - and they are completely bookable.
You can choose options we have available: private car, shuttle, domestic air plane, taxi cab estimation (not bookable yet)."
