Tablets - iPad et al - are changing browsing habits for consumers across every vertical, meaning travel retailers especially need to understand the nuances between the various platforms their service.
As 101Holidays found out last year, when it mined months of user data to work out when and how its users were looking at the site, many consumers are spending their time (especially on Sundays) looking at product on their tablet devices.
A new study from Mobiquity of 1,000 US consumers has shed further light on what travellers are doing with their mobiles and tablets, examining the role of both devices in the research and booking phases of the so-called travel cycle.
Highlights of the report include:
- 54% of tablet owners use the desktop to make a booking.
- 76% of smartphone or tablet owners will use their devices to book travel or rooms when on-the-go.
- 20% of tablet owners are disappointed that apps are not integrated with their loyalty programmes.
