TravelMassive, the global community of startups, industry insiders, bloggers and more, has relaunched this week.
The organisation has come a long way since its humble origins in a bar in Sydney, Australia, a few years back.
It now has around 70 "chapters" in various cities around the world who meet regularly in a bid to connect parts of the industry which often would never have a chance to network.
Part of the organisation's relaunch is a community platform to allow members to connect, showcase their profiles and find out about the various events provided by TravelMassive.
The platform has been released as an open-source project so other event-based communities with social causes can make use of it.
Founder Ian Cumming says:

"With your help we’ve created the world’s largest community for the travel industry, based on the principles of being free and open.
"Together our community can enable purposeful change in travel around the world to make travel more inspiring, meaningful, and better for the world!"
Like many newbies in travel, TravelMassive has done some capital raising of its own having taken private investment from Stephan Ekbergh, the founder and CEO of South Africa-based online travel agency TravelStart.
It also has ambitions to get more involved in the actual industry (through a "Manifesto"), by championing ideas and innovation through the TravelMassive community platform, supporting diversity and responsible travel, and even a service for matching startups and entrepreneurs with investors.
