Days after disclosing some detail for its ambitious online travel agency, Thomas Cook has confirmed the appointment of the exec charged with spreading the word.
The tour operator has brought in a marketing heavyweight from outside the industry, former sales and marketing head at TV giant BSkyB, Louise Mullock, to become ecommerce group sales and marketing director.
Mullock is one of a string of senior positions likely to be announced in the coming weeks ahead of a formal overview in December of the company's plans to become a top European online travel agency.
The former-Accenture consultant and Carphone Warehouse marketing boss will be responsible for both online and offline activity for Thomas Cook as it looks to challenge the likes of Expedia across the continent.
Last week Thomas Cook said it would using the existing Thomascook.com platform to run the OTA and hoped to roll the operation out to other markets in the coming months after establishing first in the UK.
Mullock will report into the OTA's chief executive Thomas Doering.
