Roomlinx ties up with DISH Network
The maker of interactive TV applications has signed a five-year programming and marketing agreement with DISH Network, a US pay-TV provider.
Roomlinx has installed ITVs in 5,500 Hyatt Hotel rooms, part of a 60,000 rooms North America contract.
The deal with DISH allows Roomlinx to stream high-definition programming and DISH interactive marketing to guests.
CCRA launches two technology booking products
CCRA Travel Solutions now sells the Connect service, which allows any travel distribution company to build or enhance its reservation application using CCRA's hotel content. Think: listings with photos and property descriptions.
CCRA's new OnDemand booking engine is essentially a white-label service. For a taste, see the company's new booking engine, CCRAtravel.com, which has listings for 180,000 hotels in multiple rate categories.
CCRA Travel Solutions provides call center, travel supplier, and travel agent solutions and serves travel agencies and agents in the US and internationally.
Cathay Pacific's airline magazine goes digital
Publisher ACP Magazines Asia now produces Cathay Pacific's flagship in-flight magazine, Discovery in digital versions as well as print ones.
It's downloadable as an app for mobile devices like iPads.
Singapore Airlines was the first carrier to digitize its in-flight magazine in 2010.
Room 77 releases updates to site and app
The multi-talented hotel booking startup based in the US has released an improved map search.
It now includes detailed neighborhood and landmark information for top US cities as well as an updated iPhone app. Room 77 says it will release an Android app soon.
In Europe, a new app helps fliers who need compensation from airlines
New since May, iPhone app app refund.me, lets travelers whose flights have been delayed, overbooked, or canceled when flying in the European Union see if they qualify to receive compensation from the airlines. An Android version is in the works for this free app from Potsdam-based startup, GmbH, run by the VCs at quantumReality GmbH.
Guestline partners with City and Country Hotels
Guestline will provide a Property Management System for the chain, which is run by UK luxury chain Bespoke Hotels and includes The Wellesley London, which cross-sells with a sister London property, Number Ten Manchester Street.
