Carlson Wagonlit Travel integrated two corporate travel tools with the aim of bringing the expenditures of wayward business travelers back into compliance with corporate travel policies.
The travel management company integrated CWT Policy Messenger with CWT Agency+Card [pdf] reporting.
The mashup means travelers will get friendly -- maybe not-so-friendly reminders -- when their air, hotel and group-transportation bookings don't comply with their company's preferred relationships and corporate-travel policies.
The integration means that travel managers can program the tool to remind company travelers that they must book their trips through CWT or their firm's corporate self-booking tool; that the company's preferred credit card must be used; and when charges to that corporate card conflict with the company's travel policy.
Andrew Winterton, CWT's president of suppliers, product and technology, sees the tool in a positive light.
“There is so much emphasis on stemming non-compliance that we sometimes overlook the importance of reinforcing positive behavior," Winterton says. "CWT Policy Messenger enables travel managers to program messages that target compliant travelers, and encourage and instill behavior that supports the company’s travel program and overall business objectives.”
