Travel technology trade publication Tnooz today announced the appointment of Philip Ferri as the Company’s CEO.
Ferri brings to Tnooz extensive strategic and tactical experience as a serial chief financial officer, such as previously for the premier research and events brand Phocuswright and the travel companies LBF Travel and Inntopia. He has been a member of Tnooz’s board of directors since the company was formed.
As CEO, Ferri will expand on the strength of Tnooz’s preeminent content brand, which covers technology’s impact on travel distribution and marketing.
“Philip’s talent and knowledge will provide Tnooz with the required leadership to expand its global positioning, while also introducing targeted events and fresh digital content products,” said Chairman Fred Lalonde, CEO of Hopper, the mobile-first travel booking startup, and one of several investors in Tnooz.
Ferri replaces Gene Quinn, co-founder and the company’s CEO for seven years. Quinn will focus on business development for Tnooz.
Ferri said, “Gene has poured his heart and soul into the brand and will continue to be an integral member of the Company and its board of directors. He’s built an award-winning, widely-respected team, and I’m excited to work with them to deliver high-quality products to our customers and partners.”
Tnooz also announced today that it is canceling its first large-format conference, which had been scheduled to be held in Boston in March 2017. Ticket-holders will have their payments refunded as quickly as we can process it.
Ferri said, “We were delighted by the widespread support of our first conference by speakers, sponsors, and potential delegates. But we have decided that we’re better able to serve the industry by continuing to lend our unrivaled knowledge of travel technology to existing industry events and to new, smaller events we are developing.”
