Orbitz Worldwide struck a private-label deal with Virgin Australia which has HotelClub powering standalone hotel bookings on Virgin Australia websites.
The partnership actually was implemented in June, but was announced today.
HotelClub is Orbitz's primary consumer brand in Asia Pacific and customers using VirginAustralia.com and VAustralia.com.au will be able to choose among 71,000 hotels worldwide, including some 4,200 in Australia and New Zealand.
"We chose HotelClub for its flexibility, ease of use and forthe competitive price it offers," says Liz Savage, group executive, commercial, for Virgin Australia.
The deal is the latest among a series of wins for Orbitz Worldwide on the private label front.
Virgin Australia plans to operate V Australia and Pacific Blue Airlines as Virgin Australia, a relaunch that is slated to be completed before the end of 2011.
