Orbitz Worldwide and Walgreens believe a new marketing partnership may be a shot in the arm for both companies.
The two companies produced a survey on steps travelers can take -- such as getting flu shots -- to ensure healthy travels.
Nothing earth-shattering there.
And, beyond such quarterly marketing efforts, which will continue throughout 2011, the online travel agency and the drugstore chain will offer cross-promotional brand advertising on their respective websites, and each will offer the other's customers exclusive promotions.
Walgreens is the largest drugstore chain in the U.S., with 7,608 retail stores and sales of $67 billion.
Orbitz has no retail stores, but lots of website visitors.
Interesting that both companies would reach outside their sectors for some marketing pop.
