Taxiwise, a Hong Kong-based online taxi booking service, has been acquired by IKKY, a local reservation service for restaurants, hotels and more.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2012 by Jean Marc Ly, Lawrence TSE, and Troung Lam, Taxiwise provides mobile-based service for customers to book taxis in advance (unlike on-demand service like Uber).
Drivers who use the mobile app will be able to view the list of bookings in advance, and they can choose to select pickup requests according to their convenience.
Lam confirmed to Tnooz that all three co-founders will be joining IKKY.
When asked Lam about the co-founders decision to sell the company to IKKY, an another startup (founded in 2013) that hasn't launched yet, he says:

"IKKY and Taxiwise’s vision aligned with one another (sic) so joining forces to push out something we are passionate about is our plan. Sharing resources and experience from both team is what we wanted to do."
